Wisdom, Wit and Whimsy:

                         the art of Joe Sartor

Joe Sartor was born in Missouri and received his BA degree from Centenary College in Louisiana. He served a stint in the US Army, and completed his Master of Arts degree at the University of Missouri at Columbia. He has lived in Kentucky since 1968, where he taught art for 33 years as Associate Professor of Art at Morehead State University, and recently retired to pursue his love of music, theatre, and painting.

Joe is the current President of the Cave Run Arts Association.  He has taught local workshops in studio art sponsored by the CRAA,  adjudicated regional and state exhibits, participated in numerous showings, and collected Best of Show Awards throughout the region.  He is regularly Artist in Residence at the CRAA public gallery and studio space on Main Street in Morehead, Kentucky.

?I tend to regard my work as therapeutic,? Joe says. ?It?s what I enjoy doing. It isn?t intended to be private, but if it were I think it would still benefit my will to live a productive life. If someone else enjoys my efforts, or shows interest, then it is even more fulfilling.?
