The Mission and Purpose of the Cave Run Arts Association
The Cave Run Arts Association was established in the spring of 2002. It
was developed out of a recognized need for an organization that would foster the appreciation and development of fine visual arts and artists in the Cave Run Area by providing opportunities for art exhibitions, programs, and education. Its mission statement reads:
?Cave Run Arts Association, Inc. is dedicated to bringing together area
artists in the surrounding communities to enhance an appreciation and
understanding of the arts.?
The association welcomes as members any local and regional artists, or
non-artists, who support this mission and the organization?s purposes .
The purposes of the Association are:
To increase community appreciation of the arts
To encourage the production of creative work
To foster art activities and classes for persons of all ages
To provide studio space for area artists and a gallery for
exhibition and marketing of their artworks
Governance of the Cave Run Arts Association
The Cave Run Arts Association, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors.
Made up of twelve individuals representing artists, area businesses, art
educators, and the general public. The board presently meets once a
month in the Kentucky Folk Art Center?s Auditorium to conduct
Association business and to plan its activities.
